O Mother!!!

Yes she wants to be in love, yes she wants to be happily married, yes she wants her career to flourish without prejudice.

Mothers it is wrong to pressure your girls to sell the cars they bought simply because you feel men won't marry young ladies who have cars.

Mothers kindly encourage your daughters to buy that house now that they can. This is great investment.

Mothers please advise your daughters to invest in that business. That investment is great gain and it will pay off later on.

O! please ma'am, encourage your daughters to becomes great. They are as good as the men for the post of a President, senator and governor. They must not be wives of top politicians, but politicians themselves.

No career is assigned to a particular gender, marriage is not the ultimate and should not be used to describe a woman's success in life.

Mothers teach your girls that it is okay for them to be assertive when it comes to marriage. Marriage can be a breaking point or a lifting point.

It is not just about producing children but giving birth to healthy and happy children. Happy children is as a result of happy parents who are in love with each other and respect each other's feelings.

Mothers please do not make your daughter's believe she should remain in an abusive relationship. Do not encourage their husbands into believing that the lives of your daughters is in their hands.

Mothers kindly help your daughters understand who they desire to be and what they should stand for. Our world will be a better place to live in if mothers coach their daughters in loving themselves rather than seeking approval to be loved.

Abandoned yet rewarded

I am still awe at the manner people hide under the cover of culture and religion. It is wrong to cheat and still pretend to be someone full of values. The societies do not believe it is appropriate to castigate one who is wrong if he holds a certain title in his neighbourhood or somewhat a respected individual as he is viewed. This married man got a single lady pregnant, while the folks of the lady discovered she was pregnant, she was interrogated and it was later revealed that this man was responsible. The family of the lady made sure he got a house for the lady and took responsibilities of the other bills. After some months the lady put to bed and on the 8th day of the child’s birth, he killed a ram to perform the rituals of her naming. The state of my state

So I have been thinking, if a child offends his father in the house, does the father in the bid to correct his child calls his neighbour to report the bad deed of the child and begs the neighbour to help him spank the child? This is what I know, as a mother, when my baby is wrong, I talk to her calmly, lovely, I tell her how angry I am and I hope she doesn’t repeat it again. Of course, my girl constantly wants my approval so she will promise not be do it again. Other times, she does something wrong and I do not wait to talk to her sweetly. I will give her “abara” (spank), yes I am an African in the sense that I understand that this is my girl’s formative years and there are things that must be driven thoroughly into her.
