Broken soul

Tomi thinking loud.... I don't want to go late to work again.  There is something about this Monday morning that she feels crazy about.  She looks into the mirror and sees a 30year old beautiful mother.  Her shape still intact even after one and she is glad her job is paying her well. While combing her hair she remembers her perfume and thought to herself 'I wish my hubby finds me beautiful and 'choppable' tonight.'

Dayo comes out of the bath room and stares at his wife.  So he says to her 'you think you are beautiful? I wonder how your boss copes at work.  You good for nothing woman.  You think your job is all that matters while you sleep around'.

Tomi was not sure of her response as tears rolls down her eyes.  Adorable Tomi is in this assault for two years.  Her hubby keeps insulting her.  His words is affecting her at work.  From being proactive to inconsistent and rude.  Some of her colleagues can notice her glow varnish.

Tomi loves her husband dearly and wants him to talk to her with respect and love.  She loves her child dearly and don't want her marriage to end.

So is the story of many Tomis.

And yes,  some women are like Dayo. They use their mouth to bring down their husbands.

This is equally domestic violence.  The words of our month can make or break a man or woman.  Why do we have to speak rudely to another? Why do we feel there is a need to pull another down?  What has happened to the helping and motivating spirit in humans? Not everyone is got a dead conscience..... Do to another what you want done for you please. 

What you say to your spouse can make or break him or her. #RantOfABeautifulSoul.

I understand that when a man cheats it is not always about the fact that his partner is doing something wrong. It is about the fact that it is in his nature to cheat, he has assumed society story that it is a man’s world and he is entitled to more than one woman. It is however amazing that women has so far helped to foster this narrative that most men are trained with the notion that they cannot be committed to a woman. In other to keep their men some women result to violence by tracing the women who has taken their men away and disfiguring their bodies.   Wives tend to pour their frustration on the women whom they think is taking their husbands away from them, forgetting that their husband is as guilty as the mistress. The state of my state

So I have been thinking, if a child offends his father in the house, does the father in the bid to correct his child calls his neighbour to report the bad deed of the child and begs the neighbour to help him spank the child? This is what I know, as a mother, when my baby is wrong, I talk to her calmly, lovely, I tell her how angry I am and I hope she doesn’t repeat it again. Of course, my girl constantly wants my approval so she will promise not be do it again. Other times, she does something wrong and I do not wait to talk to her sweetly. I will give her “abara” (spank), yes I am an African in the sense that I understand that this is my girl’s formative years and there are things that must be driven thoroughly into her. My girl is just 2 years 6months but there are times I have had apologised to her for judging her wrongly and I have scolded myself for being tough on her, other times I think I love her so sweetly that am scared she may get spoilt but I am quick to tell mysel

Abandoned yet rewarded

I am still awe at the manner people hide under the cover of culture and religion. It is wrong to cheat and still pretend to be someone full of values. The societies do not believe it is appropriate to castigate one who is wrong if he holds a certain title in his neighbourhood or somewhat a respected individual as he is viewed. This married man got a single lady pregnant, while the folks of the lady discovered she was pregnant, she was interrogated and it was later revealed that this man was responsible. The family of the lady made sure he got a house for the lady and took responsibilities of the other bills. After some months the lady put to bed and on the 8th day of the child’s birth, he killed a ram to perform the rituals of her naming. However, this man has been in a marriage where his wife has been unable to conceive, efforts made that he should marry this lady as second wife as it is tradition and religion to him proved abortive.
