PEOPLE: This is the season of thanksgiving, so I will say this is coming handy. I am so blessed, when I count my blessings they are mainly measured in people. there is a yoruba adage  that says "eni yan laso" meaning "Humans are our covering." I may have been disappointed in people, people  I thought will help blow dust from my eyes were the ones who actually added pepper, I mean lot of pepper. yet these few cannot out number the many beautiful people in my life. These beautiful minds give me reasons to be a better person, they inspire and motivate the greatness I see before me. When I graduated from secondary school, I was sure I would gain admission same year but my JAMB score was low. I scored 164 if I can remember, I didn’t bother much because I was certain I won’t  stay at home. I got diploma form to study civil law and was admitted same year. The second year into my law studies while preparing for my finals, I bought JAMB form. I bought JAMB past questions from the year JAMB started to the year before writing the exams. I studied them night and day determined that I will be admitted into the university even before my Diploma result is out. Results for JAMB was released and I scored 228. I had applied to mass communication department at the Ahmadu Bello University. Gaining admission into the university was with much hurdle. The Girl Child.

I started reading novels when I was in primary school.  I would read anything I see and so my Daddy got me novels.  Mills and booms, historical romance, fear streets et al.  When I got to secondary school, it just grew to more novels and competition.  Then in JSS3 I dived into motivational and inspirational books, I remember Think Big by Ben Carson was my first.  While I read these romantic novels, sex was portrayed as easy and enjoyable (which is) even when it is your first.  Those novels never prepared the minds of young girls that her first is painful and a few others may be like that till she is used to it.  Even when it is done in the heat of passion.  I had a terrible experience yesterday and I have been wondering when we as a nation are going to put an end to CHILD MARRIAGE.
