In a dilemma

When I say women are each other’s greatest strength trust me, I know what I am saying and when I
say women are each other’s greatest enemy I still know what I am saying. So an acquaintance has
been dating this guy for almost three years. They decided to move the relationship to the next level by
having their introduction.

During the introduction, the people present from the guy’s side are his friends, no family or close
relative. Weeks after the introduction, the intending couple decided to visit the family of the guy. Guy
is from a large family of 10 siblings of which 7 of his siblings are women and married. Guy is not
educated and does not have a stable flow of income.

The lady university graduate and skilful in hair making in fact owns a saloon where she also sells hair
accessories and dose home services too. Most time, she gives the guy money to take care of himself
while the guy just hang around the area and when he is in needing of a woman summons his wife to
be for the show.

While they were on their family visit to this family, she stayed over in all his sister’s houses spending
at least two days there. With each sister, wife to be will wash, cook, clean and make hair for all the
girls there. The visit was one of slaving to be accepted into the family.

Finally, the visit came to an end, while couple to be were on their journey back to base, sisters started
calling one after the other giving their appraisal of wife to be. Funny but true all sisters have same
thing to say about bride to be.

They said wife to be cannot be part of their family because they are not same tribe and since their
brother is the first son he can’t marry another tribe. They also faulted the fact that wife to be does not
smile and the moment she is done with house chores she goes into the room and won’t come out till
she is called. Sisters said wife to be is flashy and their brother may not be able to maintain her. That
she shouldn’t bother visiting other extended family because it can’t work and moreover, the
introduction they had is wash that it can’t fly in their place.

Wife to be told her husband to be but he told her to forget them that he is going to marry her. Wife to
be has been in tears and shocked over the whole situation as she doesn’t know how to relate it to her
family all husband to be people said because this is her second introduction.

She needs advice urgently. Please no insult as she is reading and already depressed.

We Are A Hard Working People

These pictures captured my thought.  When I see children like this,  I sincerely  thank God for where I am.  Not because I am better but because I am privileged.  Sometimes,  I try to make mental calculation of the gain they make by selling gala,  pure water,  biscuits,  sweets and hand towels under the sun.  The truth is,  whatever profit they make is minimal and cannot meet their daily demands. The state- our system is responsible for these children and young adult.  These are kids whose childhood was snatched from them. They have been forced to become care givers at an early age yet the need for survival  push them to conquer. How cruel can we be?
